About this position
Kids on the Yard is hiring remote Special Education tutors to support Pre-K & K students with individualized, multisensory instruction. This is a part-time employee role delivered online, with a flexible schedule set around the student and the tutor.
You will provide 1:1 support aligned to each student's IEP or 504 goals, build skills and confidence, and communicate progress with families and the Kids on the Yard team.
We especially need tutors available in the mornings and on weekends.
Duties & Responsibilities
Academic & IEP Support
- Deliver 1:1 online instruction aligned to each student's IEP/504 goals.
- Use multisensory, individualized strategies to build skills and confidence.
Progress Monitoring
- Assess progress regularly and adapt methods to the student's evolving needs.
- Submit progress reports and communicate with families and the assigned coordinator.
Professional Conduct
- Be punctual and reliable; follow all privacy, safety, and confidentiality protocols.
- Maintain a quiet, distraction-free remote workspace with reliable internet.
Requirements & Qualifications
Required
- Active Special Education certification (state or national).
- Minimum 3 years of classroom or tutoring experience, ideally at the Pre-K & K level.
- Experience implementing IEPs/504 plans.
- Able to pass a background check and authorized to work in the United States.
- Reliable computer, internet, and a quiet remote workspace.
Preferred
- Multisensory / structured-literacy methods (e.g., Orton-Gillingham).
- Experience supporting ADHD and executive-functioning needs.
Skills
Engagement & Support
This is a part-time employee position. Compensation varies by role, grade level, experience, and credentials, and is provided with each offer. Employee roles may be available depending on the state and the requirements of the position.
Selected candidates may have access to a designated mentor and/or team lead who can provide instructional guidance, lesson planning support, and alignment assistance as needed. This support is intended as a collaborative resource to assist with curriculum delivery and is not intended to establish supervisory control or an employment relationship. Availability of support may vary based on program structure, assignment type, and organizational needs.
